Compress

By evening, almost every patient suffering from arthrosis experiences swelling of the affected joint, and the sensation of pain increases. Compresses will help to cope with the unpleasant clinical manifestations of this chronic rheumatic pathology. Among all the recipes, we list the most common:
- Compress clay. Clay and water are mixed until a homogeneous mass is formed. Then apply on cheesecloth or thin natural cloth. Compresses should be placed on the inflamed joint. The duration of the procedure is 60-90 minutes. The compress can be repeated every day for a week.
- Compress based on cabbage and honey. It is considered one of the most popular traditional medicine recipes, as it does not require much effort to prepare and use it. Take some fresh cabbage leaves before going to bed. Lubricate one side of the leaf with honey and apply it to the sore joint. To wrap the whole joint, we need about 3-4 cabbage leaves, which have been greased with honey. To increase efficiency, we also wrap the joints with polyethylene and wool fabric. As a rule, compresses are laid throughout the night. There are no specific restrictions on the duration of the procedure.
- Oatmeal compress. Five tablespoons of oatmeal should be boiled for 7-8 minutes. To get thick porridge, you need to take less water than standard cooking. After cooking, the porridge should cool. Then we spread it on a dense cloth, wrap it and apply it to the joints. As with the previous recipe, you can wrap the top in polyethylene and wool fabric (for example, a scarf) to increase efficiency.
- Kefir compress. The egg shell is completely ground into a fine powder. Kefir is added and the mixture is stirred. Then wrapped in ordinary cloth. Apply to the affected joint. From above we wrap with polyethylene and a woolen scarf.
- Compress lime and dairy products. Sometimes lime is used instead of shells. Usually, the type of chalk used, which is used in schools. Building lime is not suitable as it can irritate the skin. Dilute the powdered mixture with any dairy products, such as kefir, sour cream, or yogurt. The mixture should be homogeneous, but thick enough. Apply it to the joint, while wrapping it with a plastic film on top. Usually the compress is done at night.
- Radish compress. Finely chop the horseradish root. We put it on a slow fire, but we try not to boil the water. We spread the steamed radish on a linen cloth. It is then applied to the affected joint. The duration of the procedure should be 2-3 hours.
- Significant relief brings the application of fresh fern leaves. From above, the joints can be wrapped with gauze or plastic wrap.
Many patients use ordinary vacuum jars as a folk remedy for arthrosis, which quite often has a positive effect.
Ointment

In most cases, traditional methods of treating rheumatic pathologies include the use of various medicinal ointments, creams and gels as topical therapy. Traditional medicine also uses drugs in the form of ointments. Natural herbs are usually used for its preparation. Here are examples of some recipes that can be used in the treatment of arthrosis at home:
- Complex ointment. Three types of herbs were taken about 10 grams each: sweet clover, hops and St. John's wort. We mix all these ingredients in 50 grams of vaseline. We bring the ointment to a homogeneous state. It is necessary to lubricate the affected joint up to 3 times a day for 10 days.
- External agent based on celandine. Grind the leaves and stems of the celandine. We need 3 tablespoons of this medicinal herb, which we place in a small container and add a glass of sunflower oil. It should insist for at least 2 weeks. After this period, the solution must be filtered. The resulting external agent can be applied to the affected area with daily massaging movements. The duration of the therapeutic course is about 25-30 days.

The resulting mixture is heated in a water bath and poured into a small container. According to patient reviews, this ointment is quite effective for pain in small joints in the arms and legs.
